Do you give books as gifts?
Yes, I do. Especially to my nieces, nephew, and my boys. Kids get enough toys from "Santa" and everyone else so we like to give books.
To everyone? No, not to everyone.
Or only to select people? Like I said above, to the younger crew!!
How do you feel about receiving books as gifts?
I love getting books as gifts!!!
What is the best book you ever bought for yourself?
It was the 3rd book in the Outlander Series.
And, why? What made it the best? What made it so special?
I waited months for it to come out, used a Christmas gift card on it and then didn't read it for almost a year because at that time I thought this would be the last book. I didn't want my love affair with the characters to end. I'm weird!
I like books or a gift certificate for a bookstore.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Kids get a lot of toys. They ought to receive books from at least one person. I too gift books to my nieces and nephews! The toys get lost but my books remain forever.

ReplyDeleteHere's a quote I love from Lenore Hershey about giving books.
ReplyDeleteDo give books for Christmas. They're never fattening, seldom sinful, and permanently personal.
My sympathy on winter in Michigan and stoking the wood stove. We just got two feet of snow today and the whole town closed down.

I love goodreads especially during Christmas. It's a great way to get Christmas ideas...hint, hint, hint ;)
ReplyDeleteBooks make such great gifts. :-) I love to give and receive them. I can be a bit tough to shop for though since I already own and have read so many books. It's usually safer for people to give me giftcards.
